Laporte and Nico Williams don’t train as Athletic set for Lezama return

Athletic Club returned to training without Laporte and Nico Williams: the central defender didn’t travel to Vallecas due to an indisposition, while the winger is still out. The absences come after the suspended match versus Rayo Vallecano, when just under 20 minutes were played.

As MARCA reports, Laporte was left out at Vallecas because of a problem the club communicated shortly after he had been included in the squad. Nico Williams missed the game with an injury to the rectus anterior, picked up with the national team during the last FIFA window. Ernesto Terzic said he expected Nico back in training this week, but added it was still “too early”.

Ahead of the Valencia game, Sancet is also ruled out because of a soleus injury and is working inside the facilities. During Tuesday’s session, Maroan, Berenguer and Canales started on the pitch later than the rest.
