Las Palmas fined after “you’re a moron” incident in the tunnel
The disciplinary body hits Las Palmas with 301 euros due to a delegate’s unlicensed status during Las Palmas–Valladolid.
Las Palmas have been fined by the disciplinary committee following an incident at half-time in their match against Valladolid at Estadio de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Referee Manuel Ángel Pérez Hernández’s report includes the insult “Eres un subnormal, eres un subnormal”.
As reported by Mundo Deportivo, the punishment is linked to the fact that the match delegate lacked a licence. Because of this, he could not be in the dressing-room tunnel and had no disciplinary authority to sanction the offender. The committee applied Article 133 of the Disciplinary Code, covering failure to comply with federation-issued rules or obligations.
Given it was the first case, it was treated as a mid-level offence, resulting in a 301-euro fine for the Canarian club.
