Las Palmas lose to Castellón and the Gran Canaria crowd turns on Ramírez
The Gran Canaria boo after a 0-3 defeat: Las Palmas sit just 3 points above the relegation zone and fans are heading for the board.
Las Palmas fans turned on the team after a 0-3 loss to Castellón. The Gran Canaria stadium drew 15,054 spectators and part of the crowd left before halftime after the hosts conceded two goals within the first 22 minutes, as reported by MARCA. The night also saw the return of “¡Ramírez, vete ya!”, with chants aimed directly at the board.
The backlash targets the managerial change and Juan Manuel Rodríguez’s first setup, along with Luis Helguera’s role in the club’s sporting planning. Supporters are questioning both what’s happening on the pitch and the way the squad has been assembled.
Sporting pressure is rising: Las Palmas are 3 points from the relegation spots, and Ramírez said this week he was leaving the door ajar for Rodríguez to stay. The idea, however, hasn’t gone down well with the stands.
