In Atletico de Madrid vs Manchester United, Leny Yoro was shown a straight red at the 73rd minute after stopping a chance for Jonathan David. The Canadian was running on to goal toward Lemmens when the defender intervened.
Per Mundo Deportivo, referee Glenn Nyberg initially waved play back for a handball. However, VAR asked him to review a potential foul by the defender on the Atletico attacker. With Yoro denying the chance as the last man—bringing down the opponent with an arm around the neck and additional tugs—the referee sent him off without hesitation.
With the decision made, Atletico managed the final phase with one more player.
