Leo Messi buys CD Eldense as the takeover awaits CSD OK
The club confirms the acquisition, but the deal still needs authorization from the CSD to become fully effective.
CD Eldense has officially announced that Leo Messi is taking over as owner of the Alicante club, a move the institution frames as a major shift for a team founded in 1921. The club says Messi’s arrival kicks off a plan built on long-term vision, aimed at boosting the club’s sporting, institutional and social development.
The Eldense also insists the goal is to consolidate and grow in professional football while keeping its identity intact. It adds that the project will seek to project its roots, history and “azulgrana” feeling—tying Messi’s arrival to growth without losing more than a century of tradition.
Per the club’s statement, the transaction is still pending authorization from the CSD under the Sport Law. That means the acquisition has been made public, but Messi’s formal start as owner will only be confirmed once that process is completed.
