Levante asks to change match times and weather protocols

Levante UD has issued a statement asking LaLiga to review match times and the protocols applied when weather alerts are in place. The trigger is the fixture against Athletic Club, which was suspended at the Ciutat de València due to a severe storm, and for which the club says its fans could only learn the match was called off at kickoff time.

In the release, the club says its CEO, José Danvila, is preparing a letter to LaLiga president Javier Tebas. In it, Levante calls for a deep review of the suitability of the scheduled kick-off times and of the suspension criteria used on days with official weather warnings, arguing that these situations should help “learn and improve.”

No penalties for fans

Alongside the request for changes, Levante insists the rescheduled game will not remove attendance-related benefits for season-ticket holders. The club also sets out a refund process: for online purchases, the reimbursement will be automatic to the same payment method within two to ten business days, with no need to email; for ticket office purchases, fans must either go in person with their tickets or send details by email to ticketing@levanteud.es.

The club thanks its supporters for their behaviour and says that, according to initial assessments, staff handled the situation effectively, keeping attendees sheltered and coordinating an orderly evacuation once conditions improved. Levante notes that the official figure was over 9,000 spectators, though it believes the real number was higher.

Finally, Levante confirms the match is set for 21 October at 20:00 and says season-ticket holders will be able to release their seats for the new date without penalty, even if they cannot attend.
