Liverpool beat Brighton 2-0 and move into the Premier top four
An own goal by Gross and a strike from Isak seal the win; Liverpool have four straight victories and sit fourth on 16 points, six off the top.
Liverpool under Andoni Iraola beat Brighton 2-0 at Anfield on Sunday, their fourth straight win in all competitions after the defeat to Manchester City. According to Mundo Deportivo, the result lifts them to fourth in the Premier with 16 points, one behind Brighton and six adrift of the leaders.
All the damage came in four first-half minutes: a Wirtz shot ended up in Gross's own net (17') and Isak, after winning the ball himself and running clear, made it 2-0 in the 21st minute. From there, the hosts held on thanks to Ronald Araujo, who threw himself to the turf to head clear inside his own box to a roar from the crowd.
The bad news was Florian Wirtz, who left the pitch after a knock and was replaced by Trey Nyoni in the 65th minute.
