Logan Costa returns to the starting XI with Villarreal
The Cabo Verde defender started against Elche as he works back for match rhythm after missing almost all last season.
Logan Costa, a Villarreal centre-back, welcomed his second LaLiga start of the season after a long injury layoff. The Cabo Verde international came into the starting XI this Saturday against Elche, with the match ending 0-0 at La Cerámica.
Costa had suffered a ruptured ligament in his left knee during pre-season, which kept him out of practically the whole previous campaign. This season he had already played minutes versus Deportivo de La Coruña, and now he’s focusing on staying on the pitch to build momentum: “It’s very important for me to get minutes, because that’s how I can gain more match rhythm... It was good for me to play.”
After the goalless draw, he pointed to the defensive takeaway: keeping a clean sheet. “For us it’s always good to leave a game with a clean sheet. It’s important for everyone to be solid at the back and grow as a team.” Mundo Deportivo.
