The match finished 3-2 despite a strong comeback from the hosts. After going behind three times, a controversial penalty sequence led to a straight red, and Yeremay pulled one back to make it 3-2. From the 66th minute, Deportivo pushed hard, with Remiro standing out as the main stopper.
Red card kills the momentum
At the end, Real Sociedad’s captain took control of a high ball, won the duel for position against Amatucci, and a foul in the front of the box was punished with a direct red. The dismissal cut Deportivo’s momentum and left Amatucci unavailable for the next round against Levante.
