Lucas Cepeda trains with Elche and will face Celta

Lucas Cepeda has joined Elche training this Friday after the international break and is expected to be available this Sunday for the match against Celta Vigo at Martínez Valero, according to Mundo Deportivo.

His Chile spell was uneven: he was sent off in the opener vs Canada, missed the next game vs the United States, and in the final match vs Mexico he only played a few minutes after coming on in stoppage time. Even so, Elche coach Martín Anselmi said Thursday there would be no issue playing him if he returned in good physical condition.

Cepeda also shared a gym-training post on social media with the message “ready”. For the game, Elche have two absences: Federico Redondo (suspended) and Yago de Santiago, who is in the final stage of recovery from a knee operation.
