Luis Enrique admits PSG lacks a specialist after three straight penalty misses
PSG missed another spot-kick in Ligue 1 vs Strasbourg (1-3). It’s now three straight penalties missed in league matches.
PSG again failed from the spot this Saturday: after beating Strasbourg 1-3, Luis Enrique admitted the reason behind the run of three straight penalty misses.
Three spot-kicks, three misses
- Désiré Doué missed vs Le Mans last Saturday.
- Ferran Torres missed vs Manchester City on Wednesday.
- Ousmane Dembélé missed again at Strasbourg.
The coach pointed out that they have plenty of players who can strike, naming Vitinha and Ousmane, but he still believes they’re missing a true “specialist”. About Dembélé—who also scored and set up two others—Luis Enrique said he told him that 25 minutes with a goal and an assist is enough, while also noting the winger was frustrated for the penalty miss.
In contrast, Luis Enrique highlighted that in penalty shootouts PSG have won their last five, including the 2025-26 Champions League final. Source: RMC Sport.
