Luis Enrique faces media as PSG host Le Mans at Parc
The PSG coach speaks around 1pm before the Le Mans match; injuries and stage decisions shape the run-up.
Luis Enrique, PSG head coach, returns to competition with Ligue 1 this weekend, with Le Mans the next opponent at the Parc des Princes. RMC Sport reports he is scheduled to speak to the media at about 13:00.
In his press remarks, Luis Enrique pushed back on criticism after PSG defeats in Ligue 1, saying journalists are “always extreme” and he tries to counterbalance that. He also weighed in on the idea of a “Zizou” inspiration for Zidane, replying “I don’t know”, but praising how France’s early games reflected clear attacking ideas: winning, keeping the ball, pressing, and connecting as a true team.
On team news, Alessandro Longoni and Senny Mayulu are the only PSG players dealing with medical issues. Longoni trains alone in the gym, while the French midfielder will remain in care for the coming days. Ousmane Dembélé and Nuno Mendes were given rest during the international break and won’t return to training until Saturday and Sunday, so they are out for the Ligue 1 game.
Luis Enrique also underlined that “players are not machines,” noting highs and lows are normal and that this international break was “very long,” making the post-break period tougher. Finally, PSG still hasn’t chosen its future stadium, with negotiations over Parc des Princes continuing alongside discussions for a new venue in Poissy or Massy.
