Luis García Plaza aims to steer Sevilla clear of the drop
Sevilla’s coach says the international break feels “very long” and confirms Stassin is out for the Levante clash.
Luis García Plaza, Sevilla FC’s head coach, has said his focus is to move away from the relegation zone and that the break has felt “very long”, to the point that he thinks LaLiga is effectively starting now. Ahead of the match, the Madrid coach spoke highly of Levante, a club he knows well after three years in charge there.
First goal: win points
García Plaza recalled that last season his side produced “the worst game” of the campaign during the 2-0 defeat to Levante, with Iván Romero scoring twice, and warned that if Sevilla do not show their best version they will not win. He also outlined what he expects: controlling the match, being intense and vertical, and reaching the opponent’s goal.
Respect for Levante, confirmed absence
On the opponent, he argued Levante have fewer points than they have deserved and praised the work around the club. The coach also confirmed Stassin will miss the game at the Ciutat de València. He added that refereeing support matters and emphasized that the immediate priority is “Levante”, before turning to Real Madrid afterwards. Source: Mundo Deportivo.
