Luis García wants to turn frustration into fuel after Ipurua: Mallorca at Butarque
The Mallorca coach heads to Butarque for a Leganés clash with multiple absences, including Jan Salas out for several weeks.
Luis García, coach of Mallorca, has moved on from the Ipurua controversy and is focused on this week’s match at Butarque against Leganés, his side’s second consecutive away trip. Speaking to MARCA, he said: “El pasado sábado estaba muy enfadado… espero convertir esa frustración en gasolina para ser mejores”, referring to the two controversial penalties awarded in Ipurua.
On the opponent, García pointed to the uncertainty that comes with a new manager. “Ya sabemos lo que conlleva… Hay pocas certezas a nivel táctico, pero sí que podemos intuir.” This is also tied to Leganés’ latest decision: Luis Carrión has been appointed to replace Rubén Albes.
Mallorca will be without Josep Cerdà, Dani Luna, Arnau Puigmal, Antoniu Roca and Jan Salas. Salas has a muscle injury that will keep him out for several weeks. García also regretted Puigmal’s lack of continuity, saying it concerns him both for the situation on the pitch and personally. He all but ruled out signing a replacement for Antoniu Roca, stressing that the market of free agents is complicated and that January is close.
