Madrid CFF vs Athletic: battle for 3rd in Liga F at 18:00

Madrid CFF and Athletic meet this Saturday in a Liga F clash for third place. Kickoff is at 18:00 with Fernando Torres listed for the match, as the home side defends the position with 12 points from their last 15 available. Athletic, on 10, aim to grab the win to move closer.

Athletic arrive after beating Atlético last week at Lezama, but the game also has added spice on the touchline: Víctor Martín faces an ex-club after coaching Madrid CFF in two different spells. In his press conference, the coach warned that the hosts “have a lot of ability to finish” and insisted Athletic must be “well” to control a match that can turn into an end-to-end affair.

With the international break approaching, Martín stressed that “the best thing is to go into it winning.” For the first time this season, he can call on Agote and Gurtubay, who enter the squad after featuring in the U-20 World Cup with a title. The setback is Pinedo’s absence: she’s suspended for the red card she received versus Atlético, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.
