Málaga make Primera history with six straight 1-0 defeats at Coliseum
After losing 1-0 to Getafe, Málaga have now suffered six consecutive Coliseum away defeats by the exact same scoreline.
Málaga fell again at the Coliseum, this time against Getafe, losing 1-0. As MARCA reports, the visitors have made unwanted history in LaLiga: they are the first team ever to drop six straight matches away in the same stadium, all by the exact score of one-nil.
Six visits, six 1-0s
The run goes back years. MARCA traces it to 2012-13, when Lopo scored the only goal. The story keeps repeating across seasons:
- In 2013-14, Adrián Colunga again decided for Getafe (1-0).
- In 2014-15 and 2015-16, 1-0s also arrived, with Míchel and Šćepović among the scorers.
- In 2017-18, Cala delivered another one-goal margin for the home side.
A return that repeated the script
After a long gap without playing there in Primera, the same script returned when Málaga came back to the Coliseum. MARCA points out that Iván Azón scored late on to seal the 1-0. With this defeat, Málaga now have six visits, six losses, and six goals conceded in that venue.
Beyond the record, the league start is also a concern: MARCA notes Málaga have collected just three points out of 21 in the opening month of the season (already around the 20% mark).
