Málaga to replace the turf at La Rosaleda for LaLiga return

Málaga CF is using the past two weeks without matches to replace the grass at La Rosaleda, in Martiricos, aiming to install turf suitable for winter. As Sport reports, the club has already started the switch process from summer to winter pitch.

Turf update at Martiricos

The idea is to have the stadium in top condition for the first league game after the international break. That match is scheduled for Friday, 9 October against Espanyol at La Rosaleda, with kick-off at 21:00. Sport notes that there will be three weeks (22 days) between the team’s most recent home fixture versus Villarreal and this upcoming opener, a tight window they say should still be enough for the new pitch to be in great shape.

Two home games to follow

The LaLiga EA Sports restart will come quickly for Málaga, with two consecutive home matches. First, they host Espanyol on 9 October (matchday 8); then, just nine days later, the Real Sociedad visit will take place. By that time, the club expects the surface to be fully settled—something Sport says has been the usual standard in recent years at the malaguista home ground.
