Man United reopens talks for Lewis Hall and Adrien Truffert

Hall and Truffert top United’s summer defensive reshuffle list, while Real Madrid and Arsenal keep moving for Calafiori.

Manchester United are planning a major defensive rebuild next summer and are set to revisit their move for Lewis Hall (Newcastle), the 22-year-old England left-back who is said to be keen on a switch to Old Trafford, according to i news.

United are also monitoring Adrien Truffert (Bournemouth), the 24-year-old France defender, as another option for that overhaul.

Real Madrid remain interested in Riccardo Calafiori, but Arsenal have made it clear they would need an “extraordinary” offer to sell the 24-year-old.

Multiple targets in play

Liverpool and Arsenal are both keeping tabs on Xavi Espart, though Barcelona would reject approaches for the 19-year-old given a release clause of over £84m. Newcastle want to move for AC Milan and England defender Fikayo Tomori when he becomes a free agent this summer. Arsenal are also reportedly targeting a January deal for Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi, valued at £42m.

Elsewhere, Emiliano Buendía is expected to sign a new contract at Aston Villa, talks continue with Victor Lindelof and George Hemmings, Manchester United are still watching Crystal Palace winger Ismaila Sarr (with Galatasaray also interested), and Tottenham’s Pedro Porro would “seriously consider” an opportunity at Barcelona or Real Madrid. Lisandro Martínez is set to leave Manchester United at the end of the season, as reported by the Mail.
