Man Utd draws up five-man shortlist to replace Carrick
UK papers say Manchester United are already assessing candidates for Carrick’s job amid a tough start this campaign.
Manchester United, according to the Daily Star, have reportedly made a call on Michael Carrick’s situation and drawn up a five-man shortlist to replace him.
Paper Talk also links other names to the opening. The Sun claims Brighton feel confident they can keep manager Fabian Hurzeler, even if Manchester United are interested.
In the same reports, The Sun says Eddie Howe is ready to return to management and is emerging as the bookies’ favourite for the role. Antonio Conte is mentioned too, though Man Utd reportedly has concerns about hiring him while Carrick’s future remains uncertain.
The Daily Star also raises Julian Nagelsmann as a potential successor, but Manchester United are said to have doubts about the appointment after the club’s poor start to the season.
