Manchester City players could seek to scrap contracts after Premier ruling

Sky Sports papers say, after the guilty Premier League verdict, some Man City players may be able to challenge and end their contracts.

Manchester City have been found guilty over serious breaches of Premier League financial rules by an independent commission. The club say they deny wrongdoing and plan to appeal the decision.

The Daily Mirror reports that, following the guilty verdict, Manchester City players could be entitled to seek to rip up their contracts. It also suggests rival clubs could team up in a class action as teams prepare to sue after the ruling.

The Times adds context, noting that City’s commercial growth slowed significantly after the Premier League began its investigation in 2018.
