Manu Fajardo (Betis) rules out talks to renew Pellegrini for now
In Onda Cero, Betis sporting director says Manuel Pellegrini’s renewal isn’t a focus yet and the club targets profit from sales.
Manu Fajardo, Real Betis’ sporting director, made it clear on Onda Cero this Monday that the club isn’t considering opening talks about renewing Manuel Pellegrini. He said it’s “too early” to discuss a new deal and pointed out that, like Pellegrini, other key players are set to be out of contract in 2027.
Fajardo also backed the start made by Troy Parrott, saying that “from the first minute” he has adapted perfectly, even if he noted that sometimes performance needs time to show. He added that Betis relies on generating capital gains and expects in January that other clubs will show interest in Parrott and other Betis players.
He praised the international call-ups for Facundo Bernal, Valentín Gómez and Fran García, attributing them to “the work we did in summer”. Finally, Fajardo said the win over Lille boosted confidence for the Champions, insisting upcoming home games are approached “with a lot of desire”.
