Manu Morlanes, operated on ankle: sidelined for several months at Mallorca

The RCD Mallorca midfielder was operated in Barcelona for a left ankle ligament injury and will miss several months.

Manu Morlanes, from RCD Mallorca, has undergone surgery in Barcelona for his left ankle ligament injury, which he picked up last week against Almería. The procedure took place Sunday morning, and the club said the player “is doing well”.

Recovery to take months

After the medical update, Mallorca did not set a return date and added that his progress will determine when he can return to the island to continue his recovery. The club expects the absence to last for the coming months, leaving Luis García without a key piece in midfield.

Without Morlanes, the team will have to adapt: either reshape the system or bring in a replacement with a different profile. Source: Mundo Deportivo.
