Martin Sherif fined after admitting involvement in 61 bets
The Everton forward was hit with a £5,000 fine for admitting 61 bets between Nov. 20, 2024 and Feb. 12, 2026.
Martin Sherif, Everton forward, has been fined £5,000 (5,900 euros) for breaching the FA betting rules. The case stems from his admission, covering a window from November 20, 2024 to February 12, 2026.
The FA said Sherif admitted violating rule E1.2 by causing, allowing or facilitating 61 bets on football matches. The 20-year-old, who has yet to make his first-team debut for Everton, added as a mitigating factor that he personally did not place any of those bets.
An independent regulatory commission handed down the penalty after weighing elements including his early guilty plea following charges brought in August, his cooperation during the investigation, and what the body described as his “genuine remorse”.
Everton sit seventh in the Premier League and host Hull City this Sunday.
