Matías Dituro: Elche “grows” with Anselmi and targets Rayo
The Elche keeper says the side has improved under Anselmi and urges focus on the visit to Rayo Vallecano.
Matías Dituro, Elche’s goalkeeper, told reporters that the team is “growing thanks to the work of Anselmi” and urged full focus on the match vs Rayo Vallecano. The Argentine arrives with better feelings after a spell marked by several mistakes that made things difficult.
He acknowledged that recent results have lifted the dressing room’s mood, while stressing that Elche still remains in the relegation zone: “To add at Villarreal’s and be able to have won… we’re still in the drop positions.” Dituro also thanked teammates and club staff for backing him during the toughest moments, and said he had “deep” conversations with Anselmi.
Ahead of Vallecas, he expects an intense opponent capable of creating danger through the middle, wide areas and behind the back line. He also brushed aside the penalty incident in Villarreal as “in the past,” and insisted he is not thinking about retirement: “For the short term I see myself playing.”
