Matthias Ginter extends contract with SC Freiburg as key pillar

The Freiburg centre-back has agreed an early renewal, with his 2022 return cementing him as an essential starter.

Matthias Ginter has extended his contract early with SC Freiburg, according to kicker. The defender returned to the club in 2022 as a homegrown player and has since become one of the Sport-Club’s unquestioned performance leaders.

The renewal keeps one of Freiburg’s core pieces in place, with Ginter established as a mainstay in the team’s system.
