Max Dowman could get a chance as Spurs head to Stamford Bridge
Forest must fix their scoring touch after seven games (5 points, 5 goals), while Tottenham aim to end Chelsea’s strong home run.
Max Dowman may finally get a slice of minutes for Arsenal after Bukayo Saka picked up a suspected quad muscle injury in Wednesday’s 2-2 Champions League draw at Bayern Munich. The 16-year-old has had limited Premier League chances this season—he has played just nine minutes—and could be used from the right after scoring twice in the Carabao Cup against Ipswich last month.
Forest need a quicker fix
Nottingham Forest’s start mirrors last season: after seven games they have five points and five goals. Morgan Gibbs-White is available after missing the narrow defeat to Arsenal, and Liam Delap could benefit from returning to familiar surroundings, where 12 of his 14 Premier League goals have come—six at Portman Road. Oliver Glasner stressed that the improvement is about putting Delap into more scoring positions.
Tottenham’s balance problem at Stamford Bridge
Tottenham’s record against Chelsea is bleak: a six-match losing run and only two points at Stamford Bridge since winning there in April 2018. After finally getting a league win with a 3-1 victory over Coventry on Monday, Roberto De Zerbi faces the question of whether to stick with James Maddison and how to balance possession with the threat Chelsea carry on the break, with Tottenham not allowed to be passive.
