Mbappé gives Real Madrid the lead at Camp Nou with a lucky goal
In the 41st minute, a poor clearance by Gerard Martín left the ball for the Frenchman, who got a leg in and beat Joan García.
Kylian Mbappé put Real Madrid ahead at Camp Nou just before halftime, in the 41st minute. The goal came from a mistake: Gerard Martín cleared badly, the ball fell right in front of the Frenchman, and he stuck out a leg to divert it past Joan García.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the goal owed more to luck than to quality, but the forward took advantage of the Barcelona error. The white side goes into the break in good form, finding its best outlet down the left to hurt Barcelona, who now have to respond while trailing.
