Medhi Benatia on AC Milan’s shortlist for January role

AC Milan are keeping Medhi Benatia on their radar for the January sporting director position, according to Sport Mediaset. The 39-year-old Moroccan, currently working as a consultant for Canal+, could return to Italy for a new challenge.

Benatia’s first front-office stint came at Olympique de Marseille, where he served as football director from November 2023 to 2026. As a player, he spent time at Udinese, the AS Roma and Juventus, alongside his international career.

Milan are looking for a replacement after failing to land Markus Krösche—still under contract with Eintracht Frankfurt until 2028—this summer. The report adds that talks with Benatia are progressing, but no deal has been agreed yet.
