Michael Carrick urges clarity and speed over Man City case

The Manchester United boss wants the matter settled fast as the Premier League awaits the club’s appeal outcome.

Michael Carrick, the Manchester United manager, has called for a swift, clear resolution to the Manchester City financial charges case. He said everyone involved needs answers as the Premier League waits for the outcome of the club’s appeal.

As reported by Sky Sports, an independent commission found City guilty of serious breaches of financial rules across nine seasons between 2009/10 and 2017/18, including arranging “sham” commercial deals to boost revenue and cut costs, and it also upheld most charges relating to City’s lack of cooperation with the league’s investigation.

Carrick said: “I've got my own questions about it. It's affected me personally…”. He also insisted that “the sooner it gets sorted… is essential” and admitted he doesn’t yet know where the case stands or how it will end.
