Michael Duff set to take over at Bradford City after Graham Alexander exit

Duff is expected to replace Alexander at Valley Parade as Bradford look to keep the 3-4-3 identity.

Michael Duff is set to be appointed manager of Bradford City, taking over at Valley Parade after Graham Alexander’s departure. Bradford move for Duff after Alexander left to take charge of Preston North End.

The 48-year-old has previously managed Wycombe Wanderers, Cheltenham Town, Barnsley, Swansea City and Huddersfield Town. Wycombe sacked him last month after a year in charge following a run that began with a winless start to the 2026-27 season.

Bradford are second in League One and sit level on 16 points with leaders Plymouth Argyle, who have played one game more. They travel to Rotherham in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday at 19:00 BST before hosting Leyton Orient in the league on Saturday at 15:00 BST.

The club believes Duff can continue the high-energy style built around a 3-4-3 under Alexander, which helped Bradford move from League Two to the top end of League One. Duff’s record also includes promotion with Cheltenham from League Two.
