Miguel Sierra (Sevilla) goes under the knife for right shoulder injury

He was operated for an acromioclavicular dislocation on his right shoulder after getting hurt vs Levante.

Miguel Sierra (Sevilla) has been operated on this Saturday at Hospital de la Luz in Madrid for a right shoulder acromioclavicular dislocation, as the club stated. The procedure, led by Dr. Gonzalo de Cabo, went satisfactorily, and the winger now starts his recovery process with his return dependent on how things progress.

The academy product had been earning his place in the starting XI early in the season, but his momentum was halted after injuring himself against Levante at the Ciutat de València. The timeline is measured in months, and it also sparked anger from Luis García Plaza.

At his press conference, the coach complained about an incident he believes should have led to a stoppage: “una jugada del partido del Levante en la que a Miguel Sierra tienen que operarle y no pitaron ni falta”. He added: “Yo me equivoco muchas veces, ellos se equivocan y los jugadores también”.

Before the injury, Sierra seized the chance during Rubén Vargas’s absence and became a key player. He scored his first top-flight goal against Atlético Madrid and netted again at Riazor.
