Mikel Goti (Oviedo) finds his niche inside vs Almería
Real Oviedo midfielder on loan from Real Sociedad says he feels better cutting in and expects a “play-off” style clash vs Almería.
Mikel Goti of Real Oviedo explained how he’s settling in by drifting more inside: “Inside I feel more comfortable,” after being used initially on the right to hunt for interior spaces. The midfielder, on loan from Real Sociedad, also highlighted the help of David Jiménez, with whom he shares flank duty.
Positional shifts during matches
Goti says his starting position can change in-game: “I can adapt playing more from the inside. We vary things to create uncertainty for the opponent.” He adds that Oviedo wants to control the ball—“it’s what the coach asks for”—and that comfort with possession must come with collective work to win it back.
Two wins and a “play-off” feeling
Coming off two consecutive wins, he expects momentum going into Almería: “We’re really looking forward to Almería; it’s a match like a play-off,” he said. He still plays down any idea of turning one fixture into the whole season’s weight: “Every game matters,” and “for now we don’t think about the Cup.” As MARCA reports, Goti also credits his warm welcome at the club and points to the pressure of internal competition.
