Mitchell Weiser returns after 14 months: “almost a psychosis”

Mitchell Weiser, of Werder Bremen, has returned after more than 14 months out. In comments covered by kicker, the player opened up about the low points of his recovery, saying: “Fast eine Psychose entwickelt” (almost a psychosis), and also highlighted how emotional his comeback felt.

The way he told it underlines that the return was built through a long stretch of mental strain, not just physical work. It also ties into his timeline at the club, with his contract set to run out in summer, adding extra weight to what comes next for Werder Bremen.
