Morante returns for Betis and displaces Iker Losada

Real Betis have their squad ready for their first match back after the break. As MARCA reports, Manuel Pellegrini has included José Antonio Morante for tomorrow’s game against Deportivo de La Coruña at Riazor, in one of the standout changes to the 24-man list.

The big news is the academy player’s return to the first team: Morante comes into the squad at the expense of Iker Losada, who remains in Seville due to a technical decision.

Alongside Morante, Pellegrini has put together a group designed to handle the challenge of an away tie, after the pause period.

The coach, meanwhile, will be unable to call on Aitor Ruibal and Diego Llorente. According to MARCA, both players are still working through recovery processes and are expected to ramp up their training gradually over the coming weeks, aiming to be available to Pellegrini as soon as possible.

Focus after the break

For the immediate future, Betis want to protect what they’ve built and stay grounded: Pellegrini said, “We have to defend what we’ve achieved and not look upwards.” After Riazor, the next fixture is the visit to Osasuna at the Cartuja on Sunday 11 October.
