Mourinho fires up Real Madrid: first training today for the Champions

Real Madrid will return to training this morning with the Champions League in mind, with a session scheduled for 10:30. The break comes after their 1-0 win over Villarreal on Sunday.

Focus on Roma

The team play on Wednesday, October 14, at the Stadio Olimpico against AS Roma (21:00). It’s their second matchday in the Champions League league phase: they started by beating Inter 2-1, and currently sit 14th.

Mourinho gets Huijsen back for this game, after the centre-back missed the Villarreal match through suspension. As Mundo Deportivo notes, the aim is to block out LaLiga noise and concentrate fully on their meeting with Roma.

Roma arrive after drawing with Fenerbahçe in Turkey on the opening matchday. The game is also special for Mourinho due to his spell at Roma between 2021 and 2024, including his 1,000th game as a manager.
