Nacho Gil of Tenerife missed a penalty in the 91st minute, finishing the match 1-1 against Celta Fortuna and wiping out Tenerife’s hopes of a comeback in LaLiga Hypermotion.
Under Álvaro Cervera, Tenerife survived a first half where Celta Fortuna had the edge. Álvaro Marín put the visitors ahead after Joel López’s cross, and Arcos came close to making it 2-0 twice, with Dani Martín keeping the margin intact.
The second half turned: Nacho Gil capitalised on an error by Coke Carrillo while trying to restart quickly with his hand to level the game. He also struck a direct free-kick that hit the post before the late spot-kick miss sealed the final outcome.
