Napoli and Roma draw 3-3 with an Anguissa bicycle kick
Balerdi, who came off the bench, scored the late 3-3 after McTominay had put Napoli back ahead with a long-range shot in the 83rd minute.
Scott McTominay and Leonardo Balerdi were the standout names in a 3-3 draw between Napoli and Roma at the Diego Armando Maradona, in Serie A matchday 8 played on 24 October. According to Mundo Deportivo, the game had two faces: Napoli led 2-0 and then 3-2, but could not hold on to their advantage.
Napoli dominated the first half. Zambo Anguissa opened the scoring in the 28th minute with a spectacular bicycle kick, and McTominay doubled the lead with a header just after the break (48'). Matías Soulé pulled one back in the 70th minute and four minutes later Balerdi, who had just come on, equalised. Before the interval, Cristante had hit the woodwork with a header.
McTominay struck again in the 83rd minute with a long-range effort, but Roma had the final word: Balerdi headed in the definitive 3-3 late on. Coaches Allegri and Gasperini, both veterans, watched a vibrant game that left Napoli with a point they had not expected.
