Neco Williams helps Ipswich hold Nottingham Forest to 1-1 amid VAR
Forest dominated at Portman Road (17-7 shots) but had to settle for a point: 2.31 xG and Enciso canceling Neco Williams.
Ipswich vs Nottingham Forest finished 1-1 at Portman Road on Friday 23 October: Neco Williams put Forest ahead and Julio Enciso equalised just before half-time after a mistake by Nikola Milenkovic.
Forest created plenty (2.31 xG) but failed to turn chances into goals, even winning the shot count 17-7. They were also left frustrated by the VAR call involving Issa Diop: after a pitchside review over Diop’s challenge on James McAtee, referee Thomas Bramall upgraded it only to a yellow card, not a red.
Leif Davis cleared twice off the line, and Liam Delap plus Callum Hudson-Odoi were wasteful in front of goal. Delap’s big moment came on 74 minutes—he headed over and then fired a 30-yard effort just wide. Jack Clarke struck off target as both sides had to share the points, leaving Forest with just one win from eight matches.
