Nenad Terzic and Athletic: two defensive errors shaped the Valencia game
Athletic’s coach assessed the Ciutat de Valencia match, blaming the poor first half and the timing of changes after conceding two goals.
Nenad Terzic, Athletic Club’s coach, broke down a Ciutat de Valencia match that ended without a win. He said the game turned due to “two turnovers” that caused problems in the first half, when Levante landed two quick blows.
Terzic added that after that stretch they had to take more risks, and that “despite going down to ten men” they still produced “good moments”. He also contrasted the defeat with previous ones: “Something totally different from what happened against Celta and Atlético”.
He explained the adjustments: two changes at halftime and three in the 80th minute, pointing to the needs dictated by the score and to players who were coming back from injury. He also stressed that the rival keeper answered a chance for Alex early on, and that conceding two goals punished them.
Next comes Getafe, and Terzic highlighted the context: “We play at home and we’ve been away from San Mamés for a while.”
