Nice speeds up Seidu deal: talks with Rennes for loan

Alidu Seidu to Nice is edging closer. As reported by L'Équipe, the club has already received approval from its owner Ineos to push forward on the recruitment of the Ghanaian defender.

Loan with option included

The framework now on the table is a loan deal with an option to buy. Nice and Rennes are currently negotiating the key conditions, including salary coverage and the wording of the buy option.

Move driven by Mendy’s injury

Nice’s pursuit, according to the same source, was prompted by the injury to Antoine Mendy. With the internal budget green-lit, the sporting leadership can finally press the talks to the point where the operation can be realistically completed.

Seidu open to the idea

L'Équipe adds that the 26-year-old is open to the idea of wearing Nice’s shirt. And with both clubs already exchanging details while Rennes is in Austria for their Europa League match against Sturm Graz, the likelihood of Seidu ending up on the Côte d’Azur is considered very high.
