Nick Pope on Bayern’s radar as Neuer’s successor plan gathers pace
Bayern are looking at Newcastle’s goalkeeper: his contract ends in June 2027 and he has played zero official minutes this season.
Bayern Munich are again keeping an eye on Nick Pope, the Newcastle United goalkeeper, as a potential option for the upcoming change after Manuel Neuer. The German club is already preparing for the inevitable end of Neuer’s era, with the 40-year-old still playing but his successor planning starting early.
Pope, 34, brings Premier League experience after spells at Burnley and Newcastle. His deal with the “Magpies” runs out in June 2027, which could make a move to Germany more realistic.
His situation this season has also shifted. Since Matthias Jaissle arrived, Lukáš Horníček has been preferred as the starter, and Pope has not played a single official minute so far. As Mundo Deportivo notes, the reduced role could push him toward an exit in the coming period.
