Nico Williams returns to training and leaves it to Terzic for Levante clash
The Athletic winger is back with the group after a rectus femoris injury and will be tested Monday and Tuesday.
Nico Williams, Athletic Club, has returned to group training after picking up an injury on September 29 with the Spain national team. The winger suffered a muscle problem in the left leg’s rectus femoris during Spain’s match at the Pizjuán against Croatia, a game Spain won in which Nico also scored. Athletic coach Ernesto Terzic watched the match from the stands.
Terzic will assess him in Lezama over Monday and Tuesday, and the manager will decide whether Nico makes the squad for the Wednesday trip to face Levante. The plan is for him to be able to start on Sunday at San Mamés versus Getafe, depending on his conditioning.
In the session, Guruzeta was also absent after his recent injury, alongside Íñigo Sancet with a sore Achilles tendon/soleus issue and Djaló, who returned with an infection picked up during his time with Guinea-Bissau, according to MARCA.
