Nicolò Tresoldi fires Club Brugge to 4-3 win over Inter
The Italian-born striker hit three as Club Brugge stunned Inter 4-3 at San Siro; Inter remain winless, with Bayern-Viking and Barça also scoring.
Nicolò Tresoldi, of Club Brugge, stole the spotlight with a hat-trick as the Belgian side beat Inter 4-3 at San Siro.
The 22-year-old, who was born in Italy and plays for Germany’s Under-21s, opened the scoring with a penalty awarded after Hakan Çalhanoğlu fouled Carlos Forbs, just before half-time. He then doubled after Inter goalkeeper Josep Martínez made a costly error, and completed the third with 15 minutes left by reacting quicker than the Inter back line.
Lautaro Martínez kept Inter in the contest just before the break and pulled it back again in the 81st minute with the home crowd sensing something after a move started by Marcus Thuram and finished by Federico Dimarco’s back-heel. But Romeo Vermant exposed Inter again in the 87th minute to make it 4-2, and Ange-Yoan Bonny reduced it in stoppage time.
The Guardian reports that Inter are still on zero points after losing 2-1 to Real Madrid in their opener, and next week they host Shakhtar Donetsk. Brugge, who were beaten at home by Aston Villa on matchday one, will next face Lens at home.
Elsewhere in the Champions League, Bayern were held 3-3 by Viking Stavanger after Michael Olise’s red card, with Herman Haugen scoring late. Barcelona also bounced back in Istanbul to beat Galatasaray 4-1, with Lamine Yamal involved repeatedly.
