Nicolo Tresoldi nets a hat-trick for Club Brugge, stirs Italy

Nicolo Tresoldi, the 22-year-old italo-German forward for Club Brugge KV, has become the Champions League surprise with a sensational treble at San Siro.

That performance has put both Italy and Germany on high alert as they weigh up their options. The key point now is not only what he’s shown in Europe, but which national team he will ultimately commit to.

L'Équipe highlights how the hat-trick has kept the selection situation wide open, with plenty of appetite from both countries.
