Nikita Iosifov ruled out vs Celta Fortuna with hamstring injury

Nikita Iosifov, Sporting Gijon winger, is set to miss action for three weeks to a month due to a hamstring injury suffered during Sunday’s Asturian derby at the Carlos Tartiere.

Sport reports that the first medical tests are “moderately positive”: the problem isn’t considered severe, but the Russian attacker will still need time off. He will be unavailable for next Sunday’s match against Celta Fortuna at El Molinón, and he’s also ruled out for the trip to Cádiz. A return for Albacete looks unlikely.

His absence adds to a broader list of injuries and bans affecting Sporting’s midfield and attack: Bruno Rubio and Konrad de la Fuente are also not expected to be ready for Celta Fortuna, César Gelabert misses the game after receiving a red card in the derby, and Hugo Guillamón plus Andrés Ferrari remain sidelined with longer recovery timelines.
