Oliver Glasner explains his move ahead of Forest vs Palace
Nottingham Forest boss Glasner speaks before Sunday’s trip to his former club Crystal Palace after deciding against a new Palace deal last October.
Oliver Glasner, manager of Nottingham Forest, is set to prepare Crystal Palace ahead of Sunday’s match, his first against his former club. In a wide-ranging interview, he insists his departure from Palace wasn’t aimed at the team: he says he decided a year earlier, in October, not to sign a new contract.
From Palace to Forest
Glasner adds that the summer was when the call turned towards Nottingham Forest, for “different reasons”. He also underlines that there was no long-term plan to take the Forest job, describing it as one of those life moments where unexpected things happen.
The rivalry carries extra heat after Forest replaced Palace in the Europa League last season, following Palace’s complaint to UEFA over multi-ownership rules, according to The Guardian.
