Oliver Glasner returns to Selhurst Park with Nottingham Forest

The Austrian coach faces potential booing this Sunday in his return to Crystal Palace, with a legal dispute ongoing between the clubs.

Oliver Glasner returns this Sunday to Selhurst Park with Nottingham Forest, his current club, for his first visit since leaving Crystal Palace in the summer. The Austrian coach accepts there could be booing and insists his move wasn’t driven by animosity.

He points to the timeline: he said he decided last October not to sign a new contract with Palace, and then in the summer he chose Nottingham Forest “for different reasons”. He also tried to frame the emotion of the game without denying the split: “Two hearts are beating in my chest”, adding that in south London they had “a little bit more than two great years”.

The match sits amid extra heat off the pitch. According to the report, Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis is suing Palace for defamation linked to a supporters’ banner, and Glasner referenced how he handled the situation in February when fans chanted for his sacking during a run of one win in 15 matches.
