Osasuna sack Luis Miguel Ramis and name Jagoba Arrasate
The Catalan coach is dismissed after a board meeting, with Arrasate set to sign through 2029 at El Sadar.
Osasuna has announced the sacking of Luis Miguel Ramis (56) as head coach. The Catalan manager will leave the first team along with four members of his staff, after a decision taken at a board meeting that ratified the sporting directorate’s criteria.
Alongside Ramis, José Manuel Gil, Iván Madroño, Miguel Ángel Fernández and José Fajardo also finish their roles at the club. The team, meanwhile, confirmed the replacement: Jagoba Arrasate returns to El Sadar and will remain in charge until 2029, having previously coached Osasuna between 2018 and 2024.
Diario de Noticias reports that Arrasate will bring back Bittor Alkiza as his assistant. The move comes with the club in a tough spot: Osasuna are 16th with just 8 points from 24, following four defeats and one draw in their last five matches.
