Óscar Ureña joins Real Zaragoza on a two-year deal, scoring in Ibiza

Óscar Ureña is now a Real Zaragoza player after finalizing his move to the club on a two-season contract. Sport reports that the winger had been on Lalo Arantegui’s shortlist since early in the summer, but he delayed his decision while waiting for options in Segunda—until the process was forced to speed up.

The timing was shaped by the unexpected departure of Hansson just days before the competition began, leaving Zaragoza short in that role. With time running out, the club moved for Ureña, who also knew Ibai from his time with the Dominican U-23 team.

Double strike in Ibiza

Ureña made his debut in the second matchday at home against Antequera, coming on late to help secure a 1-0. He then featured from the bench in Torremolinos in a 1-4. But the standout moment came on Friday in Ibiza, when he turned things around after coming on at the start of the second half: two goals in four minutes all but settled the game.

“I’m very happy because both collective and individual things are working out. I couldn’t ask for more,” Ureña said at Can Misses. Since joining, he has two goals and one assist.
