Oviedo dominates the box: Carlos Domínguez scores 4 as the defence hits 6

Oviedo got the better of AD Ceuta FC 1-2, with Carlos Domínguez starring by scoring four times as the team’s defenders have now reached six goals. The win also underlines how central set pieces are to Julián Calero’s plan.

Of Oviedo’s 13 goals, the back line accounts for six (46.2%), with Dani Calvo and Samu Rodríguez among the scorers. Midfielders contribute three, while the wingers add another three. The only goal from a centre-forward comes from Chris Ramos, who scored before suffering a serious knee injury.

In Ceuta, the script matches the data: Samu broke the deadlock from a prepared free kick, and Carlos Domínguez doubled the lead via another set-piece action. Earlier, he also opened the scoring at Zorrilla after pouncing on a loose ball from a corner, and he had already scored two against Eibar after making his debut account in Valladolid.
